Baby Mayah’s Health Journey

Donation protected
My best friends Alex and Alejandra had a baby girl on June 20, 2018. The baby was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Desease during the second trimester. As the pregnancy progressed so did the medical complications for this poor little girl. Her organs are the opposite side and her CHD is very rare. When Mayah was born she was taken and put on a ventilator and more problems continue to arise. The parents did get to hold her but got taken away asap to a different hospital to do her first surgery. This little girl is a fighter but she still has a long way to go. Insurance unfortunately doesn’t cover everything and we want to help Mayah get everything she needs to get her home.  Please help this family in need. Any amount will mean the world to them. Here’s there story

On Sept of 2017 God answered our prayers. We found out we were expecting our first baby. My fiancé and I were over the moon and soo happy. Unfortunately at 25weeks we found out that our babygirl was diagnosed with CHD which stands for Congential Heart Disease.

One of the most common birth defects in America. 1 in 100 babies are born with CHD. Not only did Mayah have one defect but multiple defects. She was diagnosed with Dextrocardia which means her heart is on the right and pointing towards the right side. TAPVR-Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venus Return which means here pulmonary veins are connected to the wrong place. These pulmonary veins are the route for blood to pass to the lungs back to the heart and then out onto the body. Pulmonary Atresia which means there is no opening for blood to exit from the right ventricle into the pulmonary artery. TGA-Transposition of the Great Arteries meaning unoxygenated blood is being pumped to the body before it can flow back to the lungs causing my baby to be blue or in other terms “cyanotic”. AVC-Atrioventricular Canal- which means there’s a hole between the hearts chambers and problems with valves that regulate blood flow to the heart. And lastly Heterotaxy syndrome meaning her organs are arranged differently then the normal position in a mirrored image.

Mayah will require multiple surgeries in the near future. Her first one was just at a day old and had to be rushed to Christ advocate where she’s been for the past 2 months. We are still waiting to see when we can take her home. She means the world to us and will require extra care and medical attention through out her life. Therefore I would have to quit my job to take care of her and my fiancé would require to work longer hours or even weekends to support us. It would mean the world to us if you can help in any way possible. Even if it means keeping her in your prayers. God bless.
