It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of sweet baby Maya, daughter of Kellie and Jesse Wilkinson.

At 38 weeks of pregnancy, Kellie and Jesse received the heart-wrenching news that baby Maya passed away in utero. Her death was caused by the umbilical cord wrapping around one of her ankles which tied into a knot, thus cutting off her circulation.

Kellie delivered beautiful baby Maya Kate at 8 lbs 6 oz, with plenty of soft hair like her mother and older sister. Kellie and Maya were surrounded by Jesse, Ruby, both Kellie's and Jesse's parents, and Kellie's sister, Kate.

Although they are deep in mourning, Kellie and Jesse seem to be finding peace in the knowledge of what happened. In the words of Kellie, "She was just too pure for this world." They take comfort knowing that Maya has returned to our Father in Heaven, and in the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The shock and tremendous sadness they are experiencing is outweighed only by the joy in their knowledge that they will be reunited with Maya again; she has been sealed to her parents for time and for all eternity. Families are forever.

The family asks for privacy during this tender time of heartache and mourning, as they are still trying to process it all. Please DO NOT reach out and contact them directly via text or social media accounts. We understand that everyone’s intentions are good, but it’s just too much for them to handle emotionally right now, and they don’t have it in them to respond, even when people say they “don’t have to“.  Eventually, they will be ready to reach out to everyone in their own time, but if everyone could respect this request, that may be one of the best gifts they could offer right now. In the coming days they will need to make decisions for funeral services. In an effort to show our great love and support for their whole family, we've started this Go Fund Me to help defray as much of the funeral and medical costs as we can for them. Your generous donations will go towards the plot, casket, headstone, memorial services, and medical costs incurred from both baby and mother.
