Baby Maxwell's Medical Support

As a long time friend of Misty (Rogers) MacKinnon and Charlie (Willie) MacKinnon, I started this fundraising campaign to ask for support for them and their new baby, Max. Their son, Maxwell Rain, arrived prematurely on March 6th, 2017, weighing just 3lbs 5oz. Max was in the NICU in Kamloops,BC, since his birth. Recently baby Max has had some major setbacks and was airlifted to Vancouver where he remains in intensive care.
It was discovered that Max has two holes in his heart and his lungs were filling up with fluid. Max is currently under the care of several specialists in Vancouver where he will need medical procedures and multiple surgeries. Max will undergo heart surgery in the near future. Max was also born with a condition called, Craniosynostosis, where his skull has fused prematurely. He will require corrective surgery to open up the plates in his head, to allow room for his brain to grow.
Misty, Charlie and their six year old daughter, Lindsay, currently reside in Nelson, BC, which is roughly an eight hour drive from Vancouver. Misty has been living in hotels in order to be with her baby and it has been very stressful and difficult being so far from home. Charlie has been making multiple trips/very long drives traveling back and forth from home to the hospital to be with Misty and his baby boy. Unfortunately, during one of the trips, Charlie was in an accident involving a deer and they were forced to purchase a new vehicle.
Baby Max and his parents have a long road ahead of them. For anyone who knows this family they are
the most kind and generous people. If you can, please support Misty, Charlie, Lindsay and baby Max
through this difficult time. They are not ones to ask for help but we do not want them doing this alone. Every donation will be a huge help to cover the many extra expenses this family is facing such as having to take time off work, the traveling to and from Vancouver and the accommodations and food.
