Baby Malakai's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Our friends The Keough's, are a sweet family from our church here in Bellingham, WA. They have an 11 month old and recently had a baby boy, Malakai.

They are currently at Seattle Children's Hospital where their son, Malakai, is receiving care.  They will be there for an extended amount of time, and we want to support them and shower them with all the love we can.

I snagged this from Joy's Facebook as it is the most recent update and explains a bit about what is going on with Malakai!

"Malakai Myles Keough was born March 21st. He was 5 lbs 3 oz. He was born with his intestines partially outside of his body, different hand anatomy (missing normal palms and fingers), extremely tiny jaw and extremely small tongue.
They were able to put his intestines back in and he is on full feeds from a nose tube.
He has been breathing from an breathing tube and ventilator through his mouth for a month, but 2 days ago they performed a surgery to give him a trach. So he now has a more stable airway. Due to his jaw being so small, his airway was very very tight and he could not breath on his own.

Overall the little man is doing good! He is perfect and he is a fighter.

We should be able to go home from Seattle Children's hospital in a few months. For now, we are here, in the Ronald McDonald house."

While Malakai is doing well they still have a long journey ahead of them.  Not only do they have to be in the hospital for a few more months (they've already been there for a month), but they will most likely have therapies and surgeries for Malakai after he is able to leave Seattle Children's.

Also, from my own family's experience last year with our baby being at Seattle Children's we know that there are so many expenses that come up (food, gas, medical bills, all the expenses still occuring at home etc.). We want to help alleviate some of the pressure so that Tim and Joy can focus on supporting baby Malakai and caring for their daughter, Riley, who is also with them at the Ronald McDonald House.

Any donation helps and will be so appreciated!
