Baby Mack's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On November 6th, Mack Laverne Baxter made his grand entrance to the world a little early. His mama, Bryce, was induced due to a blood clot in her lung. After meeting his parents and grandparents, Mack was life flighted to Billings to the NICU because he was having trouble breathing on his own. Mack has graduated off the cpap machine but is still having trouble stabilizing his heart rate and blood sugar. This evening, November 8th, we received an update that Mack may have an infection and is possibly having seizures when his heart rate drops. We are waiting to hear back pending labs and EEG results.

It is estimated that Mack will be in the NICU for at least 5 days but probably more. Your donations will go towards loss of wages, medical bills, and accommodations while they are in Billings. Your donations and prayers are so appreciated.

I will continue to update here as we learn more.

Update from mama Bryce Nov. 10 - First of all, Kain and I would like to say thank you a million times over to everyone who has reached out to us or supported us in one way or another, we truly cannot tell you how much it means! Mr. Mack had quite a big day today! We got our labs results back, they all look beautiful and indicate 0 sign of infection (HUGE thank you to the nurses who treated me in Powell and made sure I got plenty of antibiotics before I delivered). They did an ultrasound on his brain before hooking him up to the EEG machine and the doctor said his brain looked perfect, we are still waiting on the final results from the EEG but last we talked to the neurologist she said that there were no signs of seizures and she was very confident that he wasn’t having any, which is AMAZING. They had to place a deep intravenous line through his umbilical cord because we kept losing IV’s due to his fragile veins, when they took an x-ray to check for placement of the line they also took a good look at his heart and lungs and the doctor said his lungs are clear and his heart is the perfect size for a baby his age! They also did an EKG on his heart to see if they could find something that was causing his heart rate to drop but the cardiologist said it looks perfect! Also today they lowered his IV fluid intake by half and upped his feeds by half so now he is getting 14ml of milk instead of 7. We were worried that his blood sugar would drop because of this but when they checked it an hour after his first feed it was 98, which is also AMAZING! All of that being said, we still don’t know why his heart rate is dropping on and off. I am extremely thankfull that so far, all of his major tests have come back being good news! Mr. Mack is really giving our NICU doctors and nurses a run for their money, but I know that we are right where we need to be, getting the best care possible! Thank you again for all the love and support!!! Our little man is a rockstar♥️
