Hello everyone,

Matt and I would like to start off by saying that the outpouring of prayers, love and support for our little family is so appreciated and we could never thank everyone enough. We have had plenty of people reaching out, wanting to know how they could help, and if they could donate. Matt and I talked it over, and decided that given the financial unknowns that lay ahead, between the medical bills and whether time out of work will be longer than we had anticipated, we decided we'd give this a try. Please know that both Matt and I both want to stress that we are not just asking for a handout, we will make things work anyway we have to, but for those that want to, it would certainly be very much appreciated.

To recap our story:

For those that don't know, our daughter was born on 08/07/2025 at 10:32 p.m. she weighed 6lbs 8oz. and she measured 19in long! We stayed in the hospital until that Saturday afternoon, and we got to take home a happy, healthy, beautiful baby girl.

The following Monday, she had her first pediatrician appointment where she checked out great, except that she had lost a bit more weight than hoped for, but we said okay, that's fixable! And by later that evening, she started acting a bit off, but she bounced back it seemed and we thought, "Okay, but we'll keep an eye." Then, the following morning, she was taken to the ER and then transferred to Roanoke Memorial into the NICU. She was admitted with a really low body temp, issues regulating blood sugar, she was acidotic, and had low oxygen saturation, and she was having seizures. During a MRI of her brain it was also found that Lyra had suffered a slight brain injury.

We have had a lot of ups and downs in her healing process, but we are starting to make progress and hopefully heading towards getting to take our girl back out of the hospital. But once we achieve that goal, there's still a long road ahead with loads of doctor appointments, between a Pediatric specialist, her Neurologist, and therapy, and her normal Pediatrician.

The biggest thing we would ask is your continued thoughts and prayers.
