This is every parent's worst nightmare, and we ask that everyone continue to pray for Lexis and her family as they try to navigate life enduring the tragic loss of sweet baby Luna.

Luna's story:

Luna Amaris Travis was due 11/25/24, but Lexis started having serious health problems due to preeclampsia complications, and they took her by C-section on 09/18/24, at only 30 weeks.

Luna was in the NICU, and her lungs and heart weren't developing like normal preemies. She would make a milestone, then kept having setbacks. After more testing, they said she had Williams Syndrome, which is similar to Down syndrome. It was genetics, just one of those rare things that happens in life. It was the Williams Syndrome that wasn't letting her heart work right. Her little lungs had collapsed, and she had a weak immune system from it. She had to use a feeding tube because she could never catch her breath.

Luna was released from the hospital for a short period of time before the family contracted influenza A. Her immune system couldn't handle the sickness, and she ended up back in the ICU, where she passed away weeks later.

Nobody prepares for the loss of their 4-month-old baby, and Lexis has been in the hospital with Luna for 5 months, unable to work, so anything left after funeral expenses will go directly toward family living expenses for Tyree, Lexis, and their other children.
