Hello, my name is Lauren, and we are the Jackson family. We are an Army family currently stationed overseas in Germany since 2017. My husband of almost ten years is here serving the airborne community. I am a stay-at-home mom of three children. We have two daughters, who are 7 & 9. In November of 2021, we welcomed a precious baby boy into our lives. Little did we know the challenges we would soon be facing. At just a few days old, our son Lukah was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. This condition requires open-heart surgery at only 4.5 months old. He has two holes in his heart and pulmonary valve stenosis. One of those holes will close on its own however the other is located between the left and right ventricles (bottom of the heart) and will need correction with a mesh-like patch. Pulmonary valve stenosis is the narrowing of the valve that separates the left and right ventricles. Both repairs will be done and will grow as he grows.

Our hope for our little Lukah is that he has this surgery and never has another one again. In a perfect world, that may be possible but, we know there is still a chance of future surgeries. His surgery is scheduled for April 5th and right around the corner. My husband, Drake, and I will be with Lukah during his 10-14 days hospital stay. However, per covid only one of us can stay in the facility, leaving the other in a nearby hotel. We know better than most that times are hard on everyone right now. We are asking for prayers, support and donations if you're able to do that. Donations will go towards fuel (the hospital is an hour from home, there will be lots of back and forth trips), hotel stays, food for my husband and I during our stay and anything else that we may find ourselves needing. We hope to fly a family member out to Germany to care for our daughters during this time. We have never faced anything like this before; your support means everything.
