Hi friends and family hope your all keeping well.

So on the 26th of may 2026, my truly amazing grandson was born 7 weeks premature, but what a little fighter he is.

A little back story.

Early on in pregnancy my daughter in law Demi and my son Charlie was told their baby had a condition called gastroschisis, but told it wasn’t too severe and it would be monitored during pregnancy.

At 30 weeks Demi was rushed to kings college hospital because Demi had noticed baby had stopped moving, when herself and Charlie got there, they was told babies heart rate was rapid and that Demi was going in to natural labour. They did manage to stop the labour but demis body kept trying to deliver, but thankfully they managed to stop it every time. After being at kings for a week Demi and Charlie was sent home.

However On the 26th of may Demi again noticed baby had stopped moving and was told to go to Medway hospital to be checked, within an hour of being at Medway, she was being taken down for an emergency c section, as once again baby wasn’t doing too good, his heart rate had settled at 160, so they went ahead with the c section. Baby Luca was born and then rushed straight to the royal London hospital. Baby Luca has so far undergone 2 surgeries & another 1 is set for tomorrow (Wednesday 2nd June). Baby Luca will be kept in NICU royal London for quite some time, and likely in hospital for quite some time, even once out of NICU. Unfortunately Charlie can not work, as will not leave Demi or Luca,s side. So unfortunately they are struggling massively. So as much as I really didn’t want to ask people, I’m here asking for your help. Having a new born is meant to be a wonderful magical time, but sadly for my son and his girlfriend it’s not quite been that way for them. So I’m asking for people help. Please donate and share, just to give these 2 a helping hand with travel and food. It’s not an easy time for them, however they have been so strong and doing baby Luca proud. we will use any money donated into this go fund me to be able to afford to be with our baby which includes costs of food and travel costs to have family by our side when we need it. We will obviously also be using this money for our sweet little Luca aswell. As he was born so early and spontaneously we was not prepared for a premature baby and do not have clothes that will fit him once he can wear them. We will post updates and photos of Luca for you all to see.
