Baby Lola’s fight!

My name is Jenn and I am a family friend of Lola’s mom Ashley.

Ashley has been a champ through her very tough pregnancy. She had placenta previa accreta and was put on bed rest early on to try and keep baby safe. After multiple times in and out of the ER, on Monday September 4th Ashley was rushed to KGH and was to be airlifted to Vancouver. Two minutes before paramedics were to arrive to take her on the flight Ashley started hemorrhaging significantly. She was rushed to the OR with a team of 20, the blood bank was called and she was prepped for an emergency c-section. Ashley received 8 blood transfusions and 4 bags of plasma.

After a very horrific near death delivery, beautiful Lola was delivered at 28 weeks at 2 lbs 6 oz.

Like most preemie deliveries, poor mamma was left to fight her own fight and gain strength. Meanwhile sweet preemie Lola and her daddy Ryan were flown to a Nicu with the proper facility to care for Lola in Vancouver.

September 8th finally this cute little trio is reunited but they have got some crippling news. Sweet baby Lola has a brain bleed that is the worst level of brain bleed one can have at this stage of life.

This is a super tough time for this sweet family. Ashley’s boys are in Kelowna without their mamma. Ryan and Ashley are both in Vancouver fighting for Lola’s life . Ryan has his own Buisness and Ashley is on mat leave. These guys need our support to get through the next while. Lola may need some special surgeries which will mean her stay in the NICU will be longer.
