My cousin, Jessica and her family's world has been turned completely upside down. Her sweet baby Logan, not even four months old, has been diagnosed with Leukemia, specifically Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Everything has happened so fast. Logan is currently at CHoR at VCU, receiving the absolute best possible care. The doctors have told us that if there’s any small comfort, this is the most treatable type of childhood leukemia, but there are still so many unknowns that will take weeks to fully understand.

Right now, Logan is sedated, intubated, and undergoing dialysis, having already received his first dose of chemotherapy. He’ll likely remain in the PICU for about a week, then continue treatment in the pediatric oncology unit for several more weeks as doctors closely monitor his response and recovery.

Jessica, Logan’s mom, had just finished her maternity leave when this devastating diagnosis came. She will likely have to take unpaid leave from work to stay by Logan’s side and to care for her two other children: Ruby (3 years old) and Noah (4 years old). Danny, Logan's dad, will also be taking time off while also going back and forth between work, the hospital and being home with Noah and Ruby. Between the unexpected significant medical expenses, loss of income, fuel, food and the long road ahead, this young family is facing a tremendous financial burden on top of an unimaginable emotional one.

Their village has surrounded them with love and the essentials they need right now, but what they truly need most is continued support emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
