Hi, my name is Sue and I'm fundraising for my grandson Koda who is not yet born.
At my daughter Kimberley's 20 week scan for her pregnancy a heart defect was discovered. After further investigation with a cardiologist Koda has been diagnosed with critical pulmonary stenosis his pulmonary valve was very thin and not pumping the blood as it should. At Kim's 25 week scan the family received the devastating news that Koda's valve had completely closed. Whilst he's in the womb he's safe but he will require surgery quiet soon after birth. Baby Koda will require one to three heart surgeries. The first of which will be within a week of his birth (due October the 1st) Sadly these surgeries can only be performed in Melbourne. Kim and Koda will be transported by Medi Vac but the rest of the family (Dad & 4 other children) will need to make their own way there and will need accommodation as close to the hospital for possibly up to a month. Hence the reason we need to raise funds urgently, so we can keep the family together at this traumatic time Kimberley's 4 other children have also not be away from her before and have found this whole ordeal quite distressing as has Kimberley. Any amount that you could donate would mean so much to our whole family. As times are so tough for everyone right now, even if you can't afford to donate, a simple share of the page may reach someone who might be able to help. Thank you in advance. We will update the page to let everyone know Baby Koda's progress.
