Katherine "Kate" Olivia Dillon was born on Thursday, July 18, 2019, weighing a tiny 1 pound, 8 ounces. Kate was born at 32 weeks, but was closer to the size of a typical 25 week-er due to early onset intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).

Kate was closely monitored and treated with care in the NICU at Texas Health Plano. She was diagnosed with several heart and lung defects, though they were unable to diagnose a specific underlying cause or syndrome. She had an army of physicians, nurses, and specialists running tests, trying new treatments, and doing everything within their power to care for her, and had an even larger army of family and friends sending love, support, and prayers every day. It is amazing how much love surrounded this precious little girl, and the impact she had on all of us in such a short amount of time!

After 114 days in the NICU, sweet baby Kate went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2019.

Kate's parents, Ben and Kelly Dillon, are incredibly thankful for all of your prayers, love, and words of comfort throughout baby Kate's journey.

Ben and Kelly are the most loving and devoted parents anyone could ask for. Throughout Kate's long stay in NICU, they constantly researched to understand her conditions, treatments, and options, and stayed with Kate for as long as possible every single day, while still caring for their 2-year old son, Connor.

Ben and Kelly are not the type to ask for help, but they are always the first to offer help to others. Amidst the heartbreak and grief of losing their sweet baby girl, Ben and Kelly are now confronted with funeral expenses and medical bills. The costs add up quickly, and the medical bills are only just starting to come in. Because of Kate's unique conditions requiring numerous specialists and the extended NICU stay, many of the medical fees are not covered by their insurance.

I know that many friends and family loved and adored baby Kate, and are seeking ways to help the Dillon family and to honor the memory of Katherine Olivia Dillon. If you are able, please consider donating to the Dillon family to help ease the financial burden of the memorial and medical expenses for Kate, and share this fundraising site so that others may contribute. All funds will go directly to Ben and Kelly Dillon.

Thank you for your prayers and support, and God bless.
