Baby Joseph's Fetal Surgery
Donation protected
My daughter and son in Law are set to welcome their fourth child Joseph into the world in April or May. Joseph has been diagnosed with myelomeningocele and hydrocephalus.
We want to give Joseph the best possible chance and so Christina and Joseph are set to have in-utero surgery in early February. The surgery will not cure him , but it can potentially help Joseph’s chances at walking and lessening various challenges for him after birth.
Christina Luke and Joseph will be travelling to Mount Sinai in Toronto to have the surgery. They will be there for two weeks or possibly until the baby is born.
Many people have reached out hoping to provide support in one way or another and for that, we are so grateful. We ask first that you continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. You can check Christina's Facebook or Instagram for updates regarding Joseph and their family.
In terms of monetary support, in order to make this surgery possible, they will be faced with some unplanned financial expenses and any monetary support, whether large or small, will make a world of difference to their family as they navigate this difficult chapter. They don't know what to expect over the next 5-6 months as they travel to Toronto, recover from the surgery, and deliver him here at the Foothills, where he will spend time in the NICU. Every donation will wo directly toward easing the financial burdens they are facing, so they can focus on the health recovery, and the well-being of Christina and Joseph.
