My friend Kristi went through an incredibly heartbreaking and traumatic experience when she lost her son at birth and then spent a week in the ICU herself. What should have been the most joyful time of her life turned into one of the most devastating. After delivering her baby, who tragically did not survive, Kristi faced her own life-threatening complications and was rushed to intensive care. For seven days, she fought to recover physically while also beginning to process the overwhelming emotional pain of losing her child. The strength and resilience she showed during that time—enduring both physical suffering and unimaginable grief—speak volumes about her courage.
