Hi everyone, this is a fundraiser for a family in my park that are going through a really challenging time right now. Along with mommy, daddy and big brother Rowan this baby girl is fighting for her life. What should be the most amazing, fun years of a young family's life is more like a nightmare. I come to realize that even more when I opened the gate of our park at 12 am for an ambulance to come and take that beautiful bundle of joy out of here. It was heartbreaking to watch her mommy cry and beg for her baby to just breath.
Please, help me, help them travel to Toronto children's hospital, to try and find the answers they need.
This is Jorja-Maes story from her mom...
Jorja-Mae was born on May 22, 2025 and our sweet girl was healthy, strong and weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces when she was born. After her first week of life our lives changed and turned into the worst nightmare any parents could imagine. May 29th will be a day we will never forget due to having to bring our baby back to life after she choked on her own mucus, stopped breathing and turned blue. Unfortunately, this has happened multiple times since and she has had 6 admissions which has been 2 months total to the Janeway each time leaving with no answers. Each visit begins with the same situation, mucus filling her throat leaving her unable to breath and needing to be worked on until the paramedics arrive. Many days her little belly is swollen with mucus and often times comes out in her stool as well. Jorja-Mae has had many tests from 3 sleep studies showing obstructions while she’s sleeping, multiple scopes up her nose that goes down her throat showing her airway is clear, scans on her brain, EEG, X-rays, upper GI and a bronchotomy showing no signs of anything wrong in the airway. The Janeway Hospital has not been able to give us any answers, saying they don’t know what is wrong with our girl. Unfortunately, Jorja-Mae isn’t getting better, and we feel time is running out and we can’t wait much longer to find out what is wrong, so we need to seek answers out of province so sweet Jorja-Mae can be assessed by another team of Doctors who hopefully can provide us with the answers we need. Life has been very difficult mentally, physically and emotionally with Avery being in school doing his Journeymans, Keisha being by Jorja-Mae’s side every single day and sweet Rowan being looked after by family which we appreciate so much but as a family it’s been extremely hard being away from each other.
We like to thank everyone for being there for us, helping us through the hard days and saying all the prayers for our sweet girl. It’s not easy but we will never give up fighting for our sweet baby girl.
