Baby Jesse's Funeral & Memorial Fund

Donation protected

I met Samira via phone (referred by a friend) when she was pregnant, alone, no family here, scared and had just escaped an abusive relationship. She was determined that abortion was her only option and was set on that decision, having already called to make an appointment. She did not want to discuss any further but reluctantly agreed to meet with me the next day, however, and we shared a meal while discussing her situation and pregnancy. I couldn't get through to her but when I assured her that we as a pro-life & Christian community would walk beside her through her pregnancy and her baby's life, she felt more reassured about the pregnancy and after more heartfelt discussion and discussing her needs and the future, she made a firm choice that day for life and withdrew abortion completely off the table.

Over the next months of the pregnancy, we got to know each on a deeper level through me going to doctor visits, WIC appointments, etc with her and she got plugged into a local church. Her life changed drastically and I saw her outlook and excitement for the baby, who we later found out was a boy, grow by the day. The community even came together to throw her a big baby shower to provide the things she needed for her baby boy.

On November 13th, 2019 after days of false labor, Jesse Taylor Chaouad made his appearance into the world. From the beginning, he was a happy, content, bubbly, healthy baby. It was such a joy to see Samira fall in love with her baby boy and to see her from day one become the most amazing, attentive, nurturing momma to him. It's as if it came natural to her. She voiced many times, how she was so happy that she didn't go through with the abortion because her baby boy had just changed her heart and life so much and she couldn't imagine life without him. She took him to church for the first time the last Sunday of the year (Dec. 29th) and was so excited for a new year and new chapter with her little man. However, tragedy struck the very next the morning on Monday, December 30th as Samira woke to find Jesse unresponsive. She called 911 but the paramedics were unable to save little Jesse's life. Jesse was a little over six weeks old at the time of his death but he brought so much joy to the world and brought people together, who cared for him and his momma, even when he was in the womb.

As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for Samira but many are coming around her to love on and support her. Being a first time, single mom with very limited resources, there was obviously no money put away for an unexpected tragedy like this and we are trying to help her as a Christian and pro-life community to hopefully bring some donations together so that little Jesse can have a proper burial and to help Samira through this tragedy. Her family is all in Germany and are unable to be here physically for her due to the distance so she neeeds us all the more right now. Funds will be directed towards funeral/memorial costs, looming doctor bills from Jesse's delivery, grief counseling for Samira and expenses to help her move forward and start over after this tragic loss. When she chose life for Jesse, I assured her that there would many to walk beside her and though things didn't end up how we expected, I'm praying for heartfelt people to come alongside her by helping in this difficult time. Please share with your contacts and on behalf of Samira and precious baby Jesse and all who love them, I thank you.
