Hello, my name is Suzanne and I am fundraising for my family. My newborn grandson Jameson, who is only ten days old, is very ill. We were told he was improving, but when my daughter went to see her son on Sunday early afternoon, she was informed he was airlifted from Chico, CA to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UC Davis Hospital in Sacramento in critical condition. Alyssa's car is not reliable to drive to Sacramento. I immediately went and picked her up and we drove the hour and forty minutes to get to UC Davis.
Ronald McDonald House, which is free to families, and Kiwanis Family House (charges $60 per night) have been completely full. We have been here two nights and have spent almost $600 (gas, lodging, food). The doctors have not been able to figure out what is exactly going on with Jameson's health. He has had a blood transfusion, his white blood count is high (they think he has an infection somewhere in his body), his blood glucose is not stabilizing, so they are monitoring him for seizures, they have not been able to put in a central line to be able to give him fluids and medications, and we were told last night he has a broken shoulder (possibly from delivery). There is no release date, and we don't know how long he will be here in Sacramento. The thought of having to go back to Chico and be an hour and forty minutes away from him is excruciating. Any donations, no matter the amount, would help us to be here with Jameson.
