Baby Jack's Heart Fund (HLHS)

Hi everyone,

We’ve always tried to handle things on our own, but right now, we find ourselves in a situation where we need to reach out to our friends, family, and community for support. As many of you know, our son Jack has been through more than most of us can imagine. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a condition that has required multiple surgeries to help his heart function.

Jack is scheduled for another open-heart surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital on September 4, 2024. This time, he’s a candidate for a new procedure called the reverse one-and-a-half repair, which could offer him a healthier and more active future. Boston Children’s is pioneering this surgery, and if Jack remains eligible, it could be life-changing for him. If not, he will undergo the more traditional Fontan procedure. Both are serious surgeries, and we’re hopeful for the best possible outcome.

Why We’re Asking for Help

We’ve always done our best to manage on our own, but the costs associated with this surgery are beyond what we can handle alone. Between medical expenses, travel to Boston, and the costs of staying there during Jack’s recovery, we’re facing a significant financial burden. We also need to cover food, transportation, and housing while we’re away.

With Jack’s health requiring strict quarantine precautions, we’re currently relying on one income, which adds even more pressure. It’s hard for us to ask, but we’re in a position where we need help to get through this.

About Jack

Jack is so much more than his medical challenges. He’s a joyful, curious little boy who loves animals and finds joy in the simplest things. Recently, he was also diagnosed with autism. While this has brought new challenges, it’s also opened up resources that will help him thrive. Jack is non-verbal and spends a lot of time lining up his toys, but his resilience and strength continue to inspire us every day.
