Baby Jace's Urgent Heart Surgery Fund

Hi! My name is Elaine and I am initiating this fundraising for my niece’s newborn baby boy, Jace. He was born on the 1st of July, 2025. 48 hours after his birth, his heart was checked for a murmur. He was then referred to a pediatric cardiologist and suggested an immediate 2D Echo test. On July 4th, the result of the 2D Echo showed Congenital Heart Disease, D-Transposition of Great Arteries, with Pneumonia.

(Transposition of the great arteries (TGA) is a rare, life-threatening congenital heart defect where the aorta and pulmonary artery, the two main arteries leaving the heart, are reversed in position. This causes the body's systemic and pulmonary circulations to work in parallel instead of together. As a result, oxygen-poor blood returning from the body is pumped out to the body instead of the lungs. Newborns with TGA often have bluish skin.)

At 10 days old, the baby was transported via ambulance from Nueva Vizcaya, a northern province of the Philippines, to Metro Manila, Philippine Heart Center. He had been scheduled for an Arterial Switch Operation. (The arterial switch operation (ASO), also known as the Jatene procedure, is a surgical procedure performed to correct transposition of the great arteries (TGA), a congenital heart defect where the pulmonary artery and aorta are connected to the wrong ventricles. In TGA, oxygen-poor blood is pumped back to the body, and oxygen-rich blood is recirculated to the lungs, which is not sustainable for life. ASO involves switching the positions of the pulmonary artery and aorta, and re-implanting the coronary arteries in their correct positions on the new aorta.)

The operation was successful. Thank God!

Currently, the baby is still recovering at the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the Philippine Heart Center.

I have set up this GoFundMe to help with the medical expenses of our dear baby Jace. Currently, the running hospital bill as of July 22, 2025, is PHP 1,064,547.49 (USD 18,627.31).

We truly appreciate any amount you’re able to give. It all makes a difference. Every bit of support brings us closer to his healing.

Thank you for your generosity. May God bless us all!
