Baby Isaiah

We would like you to meet the Kruegers, Nate, Ksenia, and their daughter Shiloh. They like to go on walks and enjoy nature, feed the chickens and collect eggs, and just spend time with each other and family. Their family didn’t feel quite complete yet, so they decided to try for another child. Soon they were blessed with the conception of another child. Nate and Ksenia hoped for a boy to pass on the family name and Shiloh wanted a sibling to play with. The Kruegers beamed with excitement at the gender reveal as family found out they were having their boy. The day finally came when Isaiah was ready to meet the family. Isaiah Matthew Krueger was born on Wednesday June 17th, 2020 at 8:44 AM, 8 lbs 9 oz, 20 inches long, a perfect baby boy as far as the eye could see. Shiloh was so excited to finally have a baby brother. So much so that she walked around all day with a picture of him.  Shiloh finally met little Isaiah when Mom and Dad brought him home from the hospital on Thursday. The next day they received a phone call from their doctor informing them that Isaiah tested positive for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) during his screenings. SMA is a genetic condition that causes muscle weakness and atrophy (when muscles get smaller). SMA can affect a child’s ability to crawl, walk, sit up and control head movements. For more information you can visit: https://www.uwhealth.org/spinal-muscular-atrophy/about-spinal-muscular-atrophy/52758

This will be a lifelong journey for baby Isaiah and his family. There is hope for little Isaiah! There are treatments available for SMA that could potentially slow the effects of the genetic disorder. However, these treatments are time sensitive and quite expensive.  This is why we’re asking for donations on Isaiah’s behalf. Seeing as how these treatments as well as transportation to frequent doctors appointments are expensive,  any amount you can spare would go a long way in helping the family through these times. A family that just wants a chance to raise their baby boy, Isaiah, in the same happy, supportive, and loving environment in which Shiloh is being raised.
