Baby Henry has RSV and Pneumonia

My name is Julie Mays and I am Kelly Roldan’s older sister. Kelly and her husband, Dan, had their third child, a healthy baby boy, Henry Jack Roldan, on October 18th. After only twelve days, Henry was diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (“RSV”). After spending a day in the Emergency Room, he was transported to the Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (“PICU”).

Henry has been fighting for his life in the PICU for the past week as he battles RSV. Unfortunately, he has also now developed pneumonia. Henry is unable to breathe on his own and is receiving oxygen through a ventilator. Henry is unable to eat on his own and is receiving breastmilk through a feeding tube. He is also sedated so as to keep him comfortable. Everyone is hoping that he will recover with the exceptional care from the Cleveland Clinic, but it will not be a quick process. He is expected to remain in the PICU for a while as they monitor his recovery.

Kelly is a popular Cleveland hairstylist and works at a salon in Lakewood, Ohio. Due to the nature of her business, while at the hospital by Henry’s side, she is not bringing in income.

As Kelly and Dan navigate this traumatic experience and to help lessen the financial burden that they are facing, I am asking for donations to help pay for Henry’s medical bills and recovery.
