Running for Hazel
0% complete
$41,050 raised of $50K AUD
322 donations
A few weeks ago, my mate Matt called me with an idea I never expected.
He asked if he could run for Hazel. Not for himself. Not for a personal best, for Hazel.
Matt owns John Kyle Espresso, and over the coming weeks he’ll be collecting donations in store before hosting a Coffee for Hazel Day to help raise funds for Hazel’s ongoing care, specialised equipment, and a new running pram.
He’s also taking on the Sunshine Coast Marathon for her. I’ll be on the start line too, pushing Hazel for the 42.2 kilometres in the same running pram we’ve used since she was a newborn. That pram has carried us through many kilometres and countless memories, but it’s finally reaching the end of its life.
Every dollar raised will help give Hazel more opportunities to experience the world, continue joining me on runs, and access the equipment she needs as she grows.
More than anything, we hope this is a chance to raise awareness for children living with profound disabilities and to show what’s possible when a community comes together around a little girl who has already overcome so much.
Matt, thank you for believing in Hazel and for going above and beyond to make a real difference. Your kindness means more to our family than words can say.
To everyone who has supported Hazel’s journey over the years, whether you’ve donated, shared our story, or simply sent us a message of encouragement, thank you. Every act of kindness helps us keep moving forward together.
