Over the last several years, adoption has been a constant conversation in our home. After much prayer and discussion, Mike and I have decided to begin the adoption process. We are THRILLED!
In 1996 I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and from 1996-2007, I had many laparoscopic surgeries. Unfortunately, none of the surgeries were successful, so in 2009 I had a full hysterectomy. This was extremely devastating to me, especially when I was told I could not carry a child biologically due to this disease. I was in constant prayer and did a lot of soul searching when I came to the conclusion that God had a plan for me and I was going to be okay.
In 2010 Mike and I got married and happily became "Dog Parents". I have thoroughly enjoyed being a dog mom and Aunt to our nieces and nephews, but the desire of wanting to be a mom has never left me. We've had some of the best years helping others raise their children and be role models in their lives, but we are ready to take the next step and become "Mommy" and "Daddy".
Mike and I have so much love to give. Our hope is that our friends and family will pray for both us and our future child's birth mom. Adoption is not only a long process but also a major financial responsibility. As we begin saving, working side jobs, and fundraising for our adoption, we ask that you come alongside us in whatever way God is leading you to participate (financially, prayer or time). Thank you for your prayers as we embark on this exciting journey! We can't wait to share our journey with you as it unfolds.
