Hi,

we are Grace’s parents, Hayley and Bram.

Nothing can truly prepare you for the reality of having a premature baby and watching one complication after another unfold.

Our daughter, Grace, was born 11 weeks early by emergency C-section. Shortly after she was born, we were told she was severely anemic, and within the first 6 hours of her life her tiny heart stopped twice. From that moment it has felt like a domino effect, with one complication leading into another.

Grace has since suffered a brain bleed and ongoing issues with anemia. Recently, doctors performed a scan on her tummy which suggests she may have a perforated intestine. They are currently investigating this further, and if it is confirmed, Grace will need urgent surgery. This would mean being transferred to another hospital, adding another layer of stress and uncertainty during an already incredibly difficult time.

Despite everything, we are now on day 3, and we are finally seeing the smallest signs of improvement. Grace is currently stable, but she is not out of the woods yet. The doctors and nurses have been working tirelessly to treat every complication and give her little body the best chance to heal. We are holding on to hope and continuing to pray for her strength.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden while we focus on being there for Grace. With long hospital stays, we are constantly traveling back and forth by taxi between the hospital and home so we can also care for our other children. If Grace needs to be moved to another hospital for surgery, the travel costs, food expenses, and time away from home will only increase.

Any support—whether through donations or simply sharing this page—would mean the world to our family during this incredibly difficult time. It will help us stay close to Grace, support our other children, and focus on what matters most: our daughter’s fight to get stronger every day.
