My name is Kirsty Parkes, I am supporting the Williams family as we fight to get justice for Baby Grace and funds to provide a funeral and the dignity that little Grace was robbed of at birth.

During an attempt to deliver baby Grace by forceps, Grace suffered catastrophic irreversible trauma to her neck and spine and is now incompatible with life.

Baby Grace was a perfect and healthy until that point. She is currently in NICU on ventilator and after MRI, the outcome is impending death.

How does Jess explain this to Graces twin brothers? They are 2yrs old and so excited to have a baby sister..

Baby Grace's Birth Story..

Baby Grace was born Friday October 10th under extreme circumstances. Jess, Graces mum, had presented at John Hunter Hospital for a balloon induction. Upon checking, she was already dilated and favorable for induction with just breaking waters. Jess declined a drip and opted for an opportunity to labour naturally. The hospital again suggested a drip to "speed things along" to which she consented. After hours on the gas, and feeling little relief, Jess was given an epidural. Rested and relieved, she was 9cm!! It was then that things went very wrong..

After being told to push with contractions (while numb from epidural and laying on her back in stirrups) baby Graces heart rate skyrocketed. The hospital made the call to prep a theatre for c section. Once in theatre they checked Jess and noted that baby had descended some more, hospital staff then made the decision to attempt to deliver Grace using forceps. This was unsuccessful and they continued into theatre to perform a c section. Once born, baby Grace was completely unresponsive and rushed to NICU where she remains on life support for the moment.

MRI scan showed blood in her spinal fluid, today Grace has started having seizures.

This was COMPLETELY avoidable with the right care and if they had LISTENED to Jess' concerns.
