Baby Goodo’s trip to Melbourne for surgery

Hi my name is Peta Walters, very dear young family friends of mine are due to have their beautiful baby in March. a baby boy! A very exciting surprise to join their beautiful family, engaged couple Dylan and Kahliah and her 10yr old son Ryder.

During a routine ultrasound, baby boy was diagnosed with Transposition of the great arteries in his heart. Meaning his two main arteries leaving his heart are reversed. He also has a hole in his heart and critical Pulmonary Stenosis. This means after he is born he will require a balloon to be inserted , lines in and oxygen etc and will be separated from mum in intensive care straight away. Within a week he’ll be flown to Melbourne for heart surgery to reverse this condition. He’ll then be required to stay in hospital in Melbourne for a few weeks before being transferred back to hospital in Adelaide. As you can all imagine this diagnosis was very unexpected and heart wrenching for the whole family!!

Anyone who has had someone in hospital for an extended stay knows how expensive the daily travels, dads flights, car parking, food etc can be. Let alone being in a hospital in another state, believe me it is not cheap. Not only do they have this upcoming trip to Melbourne to think about, she has to leave her son Ryder behind. He will be staying with his dad but it’s not easy as every mother knows to leave your child in another state while they give baby Creed the best fighting chance. I would love to be able to help Kahliah and Dylan out with this fundraiser so when the time comes to travel to Melbourne they don’t have to worry about anything else besides being there with their newborn son.

If anyone is able to help support Dylan and Kahliah it would be greatly appreciated. Any money raised will go toward their costs of travel, accomodation, car hire, parking, car seat etc.
