My son and his wife are expecting a baby girl in May. They received some frightening news. My future granddaughter has what is called TGA (Transposition of the Great Arteries). She will need open-heart surgery within 2 days of birth to correct the congenital defect in the heart.

Thankfully, the surgery is a very successful procedure, but the doctors want them to stay in Seattle for 1 month before the birth and around 6-8 weeks after birth and surgery for recovery.

This brings in a lot of extra housing costs and the expense of missed income. They don’t want to let go of their current housing as it will only be a couple of months. Funds will go to renting a second location and subsequent expenses for those months.
