Baby Girls Heart
Don protégé
Baby Girl Rawlings was diagnosed with a heart defect several months ago and doctors have been monitoring her weekly with ultrasounds. She had her follow up fetal echocardiogram mid July and the cardiologist determined a different heart defect, Truncus Arteriosus. With this heart defect, she will need heart surgery about a week after she’s born, follow up echos along with follow up surgeries as her heart grows.
Amy is now staying in Charleston with a good friend so she can be there just in case she goes into labor early to avoid a 4hr ambulance trip or being separated from baby girl after delivery. Brett is traveling back and forth as he can and plans to stay there once baby comes through surgery and some of recovery. Once she is born they will be in Charleston for at least 3-4 weeks in the PCICU at MUSC and will be hopefully staying at the Ronald McDonald house close by MUSC if they can get in.
They are incredibly grateful for family and friends and the support they’ve had. As well as the requests to donate to help them through all of this!
They are still unsure of the total costs for the surgeries since everything is dependent on how she does after delivery, after surgery, etc. but we will update this page as soon as we find out more! Donations will be going to pay for the surgeries, prescriptions, follow up echos, and travel expenses. If they get more than needed in donations they plan to donate in honor of baby girl to help others that are going through the same thing!
Please keep this precious little family in your prayers!
