Hi! This is Katie, Natalie's sister, and I set up this fundraiser to create and provide an opportunity to start a beautiful family for my sister and her wife, Alyssa. As most people know, the first question a married couple gets is IF/WHEN they plan to start having children. In the case of my sister and her wife, the question was never if or when, that was a given. The question they face is HOW and WHY. Due to Natalie’s long medical history with endometriosis, they knew this journey would not be quick or easy. Nevertheless, my sister and her wife have always wanted children. The two of them surround themselves with children any chance they get. They both devoted time in education, which Natalie has been doing for 13 years, and is where the two of them met when Alyssa taught for 3 years. Kids are everything to them, from teaching to spending time with their family. While they wait for their family to grow, they make the best aunties to their several nieces/nephews, and I can say this from experience! Everyone who knows them knows they will absolutely be the best parents to a sweet baby of their own! Unfortunately, their “HOW” requires medical intervention. By now they have already done multiple at-home attempts, an IUI medical procedure, and one round of IVF. Now that a second round of IVF is needed to create their family, the costs have added quickly. Both of them are working a second job at night in addition to their daily careers. The cost of IVF alone is insurmountable. Every step along the way comes with a cost (consultation, monitoring, blood work, medication, injections, egg retrieval, transfer, etc.) For transparency, one full round of IVF costs $25,000, and these costs have started all over again for them. This is where they may need your help. Anything you can contribute to go toward their next cycle of IVF would be so greatly appreciated! We all want this for them so badly and this would give them a chance to start a family! If you’re unable to donate at this time, I totally understand.
