Baby Fawn Rescue

Tax deductible

Update:

We have met our goal! This morning on 6/15/21 we personally drove back to Frisky’s to share the news with Mrs.Colleen! She was in disbelief and tears over the amount we have raised in such a short time.

Nate and I can’t thank each of you enough that donated or shared our post to support such a wonderful cause. We will leave the GFE up and 100% of all future proceeds will continue to go directly to Frisky’s Wildlife. Thank you again!

Hey Everyone!

This morning on 6/14/2021 I was casually driving down the road in the DMV area and I noticed something concerning on the side of the road. My boyfriend and I stopped and immediately recognized a newborn fawn laying near her gruesomely deceased mothers body. Upon realizing the fawn was so young that she barely could walk and had extremely unsteady balance we immediately contacted animal control and here is where things got sticky.

Nobody in the DC area takes in fawns for rehabilitation. Since her mother was onsite and deceased animal control/local authorities advised us they would come and euthanize the fawn. We immediately knew this was NOT an option we were willing to consider. That left us with one choice which was to take the fawn to the the closest place that would accept her, which was in Woodstock, MD outside of Baltimore.

Frisky’s Wildlife and Primate Sanctuary is owned and operated by Mrs. Colleen, her husband and other volunteers. Frisky’s is a fully licensed rehabilitation center at the county, state, and federal level but because Frisky’s is a 501 (c) 3 organization Frisky’s relies 100% on donations to continue operations. Mrs. Colleen is almost 70 years old and has been doing this since the Vietnam War. WOW! She is responsible for rehabilitating 1000s of animals and still continues to do so everyday out of the kindness of her heart. What an inspiration.

The baby fawn who is confirmed to be just a few days old is expected to be with Frisky’s for 4.5 months which costs Mrs.Colleen an estimated $1350.00 for her care. The best thing about this situation is it will not be a donation and done deal. We will be in close contact with Frisky’s until she is released into the wild. For anyone interested we can give at least a weekly update on her rehabilitation. You can reach us by hitting “contact” at the bottom of the page. You can be apart of this journey and see the progress your donation has helped make and given this poor baby fawn a second chance at life.

I understand everyone is not in a financial situation to donate. With that being said we would appreciate it so much if you would share this post. We mean that from the bottom of our hearts. We came across this baby girl for a reason! Please help give this precious animal the second chance she deserves by a donation or simply by a share!
