Dearest Family, Friends and Community,

As most of you may or may not know from our previous GoFundme, our uncle Gerardo was diagnosed with a severe medical illness on April 2, 2020. He continues to fight and is taking his daily medications. 

One month later he and his expecting wife Flori and 5 year old son Anthony were hit with our biggest fear, Covid-19. They continued to fight and fortunately beat the deadly virus. 

On August 28, 2020 what should have been their happiest day through these series of unfortunate events, turned into their worst nightmare. Our Aunt Flori underwent an emergency C-Section and due to complications, baby Emir had stopped breathing for over 30 minutes. He was resuscitated by CPR, but unfortunately had suffered severe brain hypoxia damage leaving him in a coma. They were told by doctors that the brain damage had been too severe that if he were to awake at all within the next 24 hours he would have limited mental capacity or would be in a vegetative state requiring him to be hooked up to life support and no independent functionality. 

We prayed and prayed but God had bigger plans for baby Emir. On September 1st, 2020, they had to make the most difficult decision of their lives and let their little angel rest. Baby Emir gained his wings and is no longer suffering. 

With heavy hearts we ask for your prayers to help our uncle Gerardo and Aunt Flori through such a devastating time. They have been through so much these last couple of months all of the worst things that could happen. We also ask that you find it in your hearts to make any donation that will help them lay their little angel to rest.  Due to my uncle Gerardo's current medical condition he has not been able to return to work and we are hoping to alleviate some of the financial burden. Anything helps during this difficult time even if it is just a simple share.

Querida familia, amigos y comunidad: Como la mayoría de ustedes puede o no saber por nuestro GoFundme anterior, nuestro tío Gerardo fue diagnosticado con una enfermedad médica grave el 2 de abril de 2020. Continúa luchando y está tomando sus medicamentos diarios.

Un mes después, él y su esposa Flori y su hijo de 5 años Anthony fueron golpeados por nuestro mayor temor, Covid-19. Continuaron luchando y afortunadamente vencieron al virus mortal.

El 28 de agosto de 2020, el que debería haber sido su día más feliz a través de esta serie de eventos desafortunados, se convirtió en su peor pesadilla. Nuestra tía Flori se sometió a una cesárea de emergencia y, debido a complicaciones, el bebé Emir dejó de respirar durante más de 30 minutos. Fue resucitado mediante RCP, pero lamentablemente había sufrido daños graves por hipoxia cerebral que lo dejaron en coma. Los médicos les dijeron que el daño cerebral había sido demasiado severo que, si se despertaba en las siguientes 24 horas, tendría una capacidad mental limitada o estaría en un estado vegetativo, lo que requeriría que lo conectaran a un soporte vital y no tendría funcionalidad independiente.

Oramos y oramos, pero Dios tenía planes más grandes para el bebé Emir. El 1 de septiembre de 2020, tuvieron que tomar la decisión más difícil de sus vidas y dejar descansar a su angelito. Baby Emir ganó sus alas y ya no sufre.

Con gran pesar les pedimos sus oraciones para ayudar a nuestro tío Gerardo y tía Flori a atravesar un momento tan devastador. Han pasado por mucho estos últimos meses, todas las peores cosas que podrían pasar. También les pedimos que lo encuentren en sus corazones para hacer cualquier donación que les ayude a poner a descansar a su angelito. Debido a la condición médica actual de mi tío Gerardo, no ha podido regresar al trabajo y esperamos aliviar parte de la carga financiera. Cualquier cosa ayuda durante este momento difícil, incluso si es solo una simple acción de compartir su historia.
