Baby Emelia NICU Stay

Hi Everyone,
Kierra became very sick on 8/1 (thinking it was only a stomach bug) and by 8/2 at 11:30pm her midwife suggested going into the ER in for IV fluids since she was unable to keep water down even with medication. Once at the ER they took her blood pressure and realized it was extremely elevated, therefore OB wanted to admit her to monitor her and baby. Once moved to OB and her midwife was contacted about her BP, she asked to run some blood work, this is when Kierra was diagnosed with HELLP Syndrome. Kierra’s liver and kidneys were not functioning properly and her platelet count was extremely low, therefore the only option was emergency c-section of Miss Emelia Lou at 25 weeks. She was born at 8:24am on 8/3/2020 weighing 1lb 11oz and 13 inches long. Both baby and mom are currently doing well, but Emmy will be in the NICU for approximately of 15 weeks. We are asking for any assistance that you can offer to help Kierra and Brandon right now. If you know either of them you know that they have the biggest hearts and would do anything they could for us. This is our time to help them focus on Emelia and not worry about anything else. We are asking for help to offset the medical costs of her care since she will be in the NICU  for quite some time. All contributions are greatly appreciated and will help to alleviate any financial burdens (medical expenses, travel, food, lost income) her loving parents with embrace on.
