Hi my name is Wendi and I am raising funds for the long Journey ahead for my Nephew Elijah and his mom and dad.

On March 20th, my sister ,Tara and her husband ,Jesse received the incredible shocking news that they were expecting a baby boy. The shock and excitement reverberated through our entire family, as we were all under the impression parenting a little one of their own would never be in their grasp.

Yet, the very next day, on March 21st, their world shifted in an unexpected direction. My sister underwent an emergency C-section at Unity Point Hospital in Waterloo. In a testament to the unpredictable nature of life, their son, Elijah James Berry, made his grand entrance into the world at just 23 weeks, weighing a mere 1.3 lbs.

Elijah's journey began with uncertainty, but his fighting spirit has shone through from the very beginning. He was swiftly airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital, where he currently resides in stable condition, surrounded by a team of dedicated medical professionals. Despite the challenges ahead, Elijah's resilience is nothing short of remarkable.

While Elijah continues to defy the odds, his road to health and strength is not without obstacles. He will require specialized care and attention in Iowa City until July 15th, his original due date. The journey ahead is filled with uncertainties, both emotional and financial.
