Baby Cow Bitsy needs your help

Hello! We are Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary, located in Dresher, PA. We rescue animals from the meat and dairy industry and raise them until they are old enough to find their forever home. On January 1 2024, we rescued Bitsy, a tiny baby cow who was only a day or two old. We took her to the vet and she got a clean bill of health. Two days later she suddenly went down hill. She was very congested, was not eating and could not stand on her own. We rushed her to the vet. She is currently stable! She is receiving IV glucose support. They are doing a chest x-ray to check her lungs today. They are going to give her a plasma transfusion today. They expect she did not get enough colostrum and she may get septic.

How sad that this baby did not even spend enough time with her mom to get enough colostrum to survive on her own without medical intervention.

Please help us give her the life she deserves. She deserves to run around and play with her two other cow friends that we rescued the same day. She deserves to feel love, sadly not from her mom - but we will provide her with the love she needs.

UPDATE: It is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know that Bitsy passed away. She was getting better, then took a turn for the worse. When she could not stand up, the vet let us know that the most humane thing was to let her go. There was nothing else they could do for her. They believe she did not get any/enough colostrum from her mom when she was born and therefore did not have the strength to fight off infection.

It is sad and difficult to pay vet bills for an animal that did not make it - so that fact that you helped us pay our bill warms our hearts. We are broken hearted, but will continue to save as many baby cows as we can.

We are comforted by the fact that we able to provide her with love, care and warmth in her short life. She did not die alone on the cold, auction floor.

We increased the amount to cover some additional bills and to pay for her cremation.
