It Takes a Village: Cook-Yotts IVF Fund
Michaela Cook-Yotts has been one of my best friends since the fourth grade, we’ve only ever had one fight that lasted ten minutes. It’s been so long that i couldn’t even tell you what the fight was about. And I’ve loved Nora (her wife) since the second I met “my best friends first girlfriend”! They are two wonderful, deserving, and extremely hard working women with hearts of gold. They don’t ask for much, and what they want most is something that comes at a great financial cost, due to no fault of their own. It is going to cost them over ten thousand dollars to conceive their baby, along with the process of Nora adopting her wife’s biological child. It is no secret that the American healthcare system is seriously flawed.
At their wedding in 2017 they gifted my sister and I a dance with our dad and they were there for me in the trenches when he passed away five months later. They couldn’t fix anything but just their presence was enough. I can’t do much more for them right now other than just be their friend and support them similarly to how they have supported me. One thing I can do is start this go fund me for them (with their permission) because I want them to have all their hopes and dreams come true without costing them their life savings in the process.https://www.infertilitymoms.com/post/double-standards-ttc-as-a-same-sex-couple?fbclid=IwAR1z_vMD5uG-Le5F17_4U1VBeWkjE3h8RWPsV-mS9n381VrpTypyeW9XGqk
