- Hi! My name is Zane, and I’m Colby’s big brother. Chase and Ashley are our parents. Even though I’m not 2 years old yet, I know a lot about my little sister who was just born in November. She’s going to need surgery at Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital, 3 1/2 hours away from our house, and then she’ll have to travel back there EVERY WEEK for 6-12 months (over a mountain pass)!
- Last week, Daddy and Mommy took us to this big hospital where the neurosurgeon told us Colby has a rare condition called Sagittal Craniosynostosis. That’s a really big word that means that one of the soft spots on her head has closed too early, which has made her head an oblong shape. It won’t just affect the way her head looks though - without treatment, this condition can cause pressure on the brain, which could lead to many scary things. Thankfully, this can be fixed with surgery, and although there are risks, they are low! The surgery that Colby will have in January will make her have to wear a helmet for 6-12 months in order to re-shape her head so her brain can grow properly. My daddy and mommy will have to travel back to the same hospital EVERY WEEK during that time to make sure the helmet is still fitting her right. Along with surgery costs, that’s going to take a lot of gas money or plane tickets!!
- Would you pray for my little sister and my mommy and daddy and me? And if you have some extra money to share to help them pay for all this extra stuff, I know they would appreciate it! I know God will take care of my family, but sometimes it seems like He likes to use other people to help out those in need, so if you want to help them, just push the donate button and then share this with your friends. My parents will use the money to help with surgery costs and weekly trips to the hospital over the next year. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
