Recently, my brother Charlie and his fiancée Kayla welcomed their newest son, Callum. Welcoming the new baby was bittersweet as Callum was born with HLHS, a rare heart condition. At only three days old, Callum underwent the first of three open-heart surgeries to cope with living with HLHS. While Callum is doing well recovering at Boston Children's Hospital, it is just the beginning of a very long road for them. Living in Boston for weeks/months to be close to the baby is going to add up quickly between gas, parking, food, and rent.
