Donate to help baby Cal fight hepatoblastoma
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Caroline. My husband, AJ, and I are raising funds for our dear friends, the Kearns family, and specifically baby Calahan due to his recent diagnosis of hepatoblastoma (a type of liver cancer). Thankfully, the physicians at VCU are confident the cancer has not spread. The decision was made to start chemotherapy prior to surgical removal of the tumor. So, Cal officially started chemotherapy mid May. Just after Cal's 2nd round of chemo, scans showed nearly a 45% reduction in the size of his tumor. Now that Cal has finished his 4th round of chemo, he has another round of scans coming soon. Though all chemo sessions are not complete, surgery is tentatively scheduled for the end of July.
We find supporting the Kearns family important because Cal has two siblings, including his twin sister Emerson (7mo) and big brother Shepard (3yrs). Their parents, Jordan and Aaron, both work full time jobs, and Aaron specifically works 24 hour shifts as a firefighter. With both of them having to take time away from work to make several overnight trips to Richmond, funds would be used toward medical bills, gas, food (see meal train link below), supplies, and childcare.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact myself or AJ. Though the Kearns family appreciates the support, they are very preoccupied and overwhelmed at this time. Anything is appreciated, and we thank you so much for your support of the Kearns family!
