Meet Caid Clifford Carter! He made his appearance on 8/25/25 at 33 weeks. Caid has a condition called X-linked myotubular myopathy (XLMTM or MTM) it affects the muscle and makes it harder to do tasks like breathing and moving. Doctors don’t know how affected he is by the condition at this time, just that he does need assistance with breathing and eating and may need surgery in the future for a feeding tube and a trach. There is no cure or medicine at this time to help him but there are gene therapies in testing right now that could prove promising in the future.
As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll this has taken on Paul and Tori is immense. Between the extended NICU stay and medical expenses, the costs are quickly adding up. On top of this, both Paul and Tori’s leave will be done November 17th and Paul will need to return to work. Caid will likely be in the hospital for at least another 2-3 months.
We are starting this fundraiser to help ease the burden on both Paul and Tori so that they can focus on spending time with their little guy, without the stress of worrying about the mounting costs and bills at home.
No donation is too small. Whether you’re able to give monetarily or simply share their story, every bit helps. Let’s rally around them and show them they’re not alone on this journey. And more than anything, please just keep sending prayers their way!
Thank you.
