Baby Brown's Heart Needs Your Help

Kyle and Dana’s love story began 15 years go and it continued to grow leading to their marriage in June of 2023. The newly-wed couple began their life together by purchasing a wonderful new house on the perfect plot of land. Things just kept getting better in the summer of 2024 when the two of them discovered they were soon to be blessed with a new addition to their family. Kyle and Dana had their first doctors appointment in early September They got to hear their baby girl’s heart beat for the first time and life could not be more perfect. However; come November the two expectant parents came to learn of a major problem. Baby Girl Brown was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect known as a transposition of the great arteries. This is a defect where the aorta and the pulmonary artery are reversed. This condition alters the blood circulation within the heart and does not allow for the free travel of oxygen throughout the heart and body. This condition is fixable but it will require Baby Girl Brown to undergo major heart surgery within the first days of her life. This would be crushing news for any new expectant parents to hear, but even knowing their little baby girl would need major heart surgery within a few days of birth, they stood strong together. They picked out paint colors, furniture and a theme for their baby girl’s nursery. Kyle and Dana have been traveling back and fourth from Laurie Children’s hospital in downtown Chicago for all of their appointments and the two of them even had some fun at a Blackhawks game. All of that fun stopped in the early morning hours of January 29. Kyle and Dana were in the city for their next round of doctor appointments when Dana was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia on top of all the already known heart problems. The doctors wouldn’t let Dana leave. Baby Girl Brown is still over a month early but Dana is confined to bed rest in the hospital with Kyle by her side. These two are facing some difficult times in the months ahead. Both expectant parents are resorting to using unpaid time off of work as they are looking at up to two months in the hospital, that is on top of the unknown medical bills to come and the round the clock care that Baby Girl Brown will require. We all know Kyle and Dana are the two sweetest people. My friend Kyle is hardest working guy I know, he would go out of his way to help anyone. There are still many unknowns for this growing family, but I do know they could use as many prayers as they can get and I know they would be very appreciative of any donations they could get too. If I can ask everyone to pitch in what they can, I know it will go a long way to relieving the financial burdens of life.

Update: In a sudden twist of events, Grayce Marie Brown was born February First via emergency delivery. Dana doing alright and Grayce is stable. Both Kyle and Dana are so worried and stressed over the entire ordeal.
