Baby Brendan

Hello friends and family, Everyone knows that I don’t ask for much, but I don’t know what else to do.  I'm reaching out to you because I have started a GoFundMe for my daughter, Charli, Donnie and my soon to be born grandson, Brendan. As many of you may already know, Charli is pregnant, and she is expecting a sweet little boy.  Brendan’s expected due date is July 5th, 2020.  A few months ago, we found out that Brendan has a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).  We also recently found out that Brendan has a large mass in his heart which is causing him to have a restrictive atrial septum as well as Pulmonary lymphangiectasia.  I know these are a bunch of really big words and very confusing, but if you google the meaning of each it is absolutely terrifying, especially for a newborn baby. If little Brendan survives this, he will have to have multiple surgeries from the time he is born through the rest of his life and potentially a heart transplant as he gets older. The doctors are trying to be reassuring but are not exactly positive about Brendan making it. We can only pray that Brendan is given the chance to survive! Normally when there are complications such as these, the families are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house, but because of the Covid19, they are limited on how many new families they can help, so we don’t know if this is an option until after June 22nd.  Charli is scheduled to relocate to Denver on June 25th and she will most likely be there for a couple of months.  I am starting this GoFundMe to help Charli and her family get through these soon to be very heartbreaking times and to hopefully reduce some of the stress and responsibilities of everyday life. While Charli is in Denver, Donnie will have to commute back and forth from Colorado Springs to Denver, which means he will be missing quite a bit work and income. It’s hard enough to have to have to go through something like this, so any donations received will be to help with lodging, gas, food, utilities, normal bills, and rent.
