Baby born sick and parents were shot, please help.

Donation protected
In the last 24 hours, my baby nephew Cassian Joseph Bernard Green was born with a collapsed lung, and his parents (my brother and his wife) were both shot. You read that correctly. I humbly ask for your help for my brother and his family.

When Cass was born on 12/18, the doctors thought there was a whole in his lung (thankfully it was just fluid). He was transferred to the Children’s Hospital and placed in the NICU, it was extremely scary as we didn’t know if he would make it. Thankfully, today he was doing much better and breathing on his own. Mom and dad ran home to grab a change of clothes, and were shot in what appears to be a gang related car theft. THANK GOD they are alive, they are also in the ICU right now in a hospital an hour away from their new born baby boy. Family is on the way to be with them.

My brother should be released tomorrow, he was grazed along the hairline and hit in the shoulder. My strong, brave, beautiful sister Jernay has a long road to recovery ahead of her. She was hit in the head, the finger, the leg and has some metal in her eye. She will have to have surgery.

THEY DO NOT need to go back to that house. They moved to Colorado to make a better life for themselves, they both work very hard. Jernay is full-time with Chase Bank and has worked toward multiple degrees over the last few years and Ben works full-time with a warehouse while he’s also been working toward becoming a relator. They have agreed, it is time to come home to Kentucky. This ordeal was terrifying for them and neither of them can imagine taking their newborn son back to a house in the neighborhood where this violence happened.

Please help me get them here. Moving across the country is so expensive. The months recovery will take, with a new born baby to care for, will be expensive. Not to mention figuring out employment and making those decisions.

I know many of you don’t know my brother because he’s lived away for so many years, but most of you knew my mom and this is her baby. Please donate even $1, $5, anything you can do would help. I know money is tight for everyone and it’s Christmas, but their little family would be so grateful for the help as they heal from these traumatic events.
