Baby Benson's Medical Battle Needs You

Baby Benson is a fighter and we are asking for help for him and his family.

Benson arrived extremely premature on May 8, 2025, at just 25 weeks. His Mom had an emergency C-section, and Benson was delivered weighing just 1lb 7oz and was 12.5” long. He was immediately life flighted from the hospital in Eau Claire, WI, to the Children’s Hospital NICU in Marshfield WI.

Our dear friends, Benson’s parents, Brooklyn Frederick and Rob Juarez, both need to work full-time and are trying to spend as much time as possible at the NICU. The drive to the hospital from home is 1.5 hours. They are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house as needed, but there are short-notice trips on work days due to Benson’s condition. Mom and Dad are stressed, scared, tired and trying to do all they can for their precious baby boy, while dealing with the financial issues caused by missed work and travel and medical expenses.

Unfortunately, Benson has suffered from multiple brain bleeds; he has a heart condition, respiratory disease and eye disease. He may need laser eye surgery before discharge. But Benson is a fighter and is improving! When he recently came off the ventilator, he was able to receive his first real bottle from Mom and Dad. The motto is “Benson Strong”!

When Benson comes home, hopefully by the end of August, there will continue to be doctor visits and follow-ups with specialists. Both Brooklyn and Rob will need to take unpaid time from work when he reaches that milestone. We are asking for help to ease the financial burden so Brooklyn and Rob can focus on Benson. The constant travel is expensive and the medical bills continue to add-up. In addition, Brooklyn and Rob are moving this week into a home that will be better for Benson’s recovery.
