Baby Avyanna

Hello, I would like to share Baby Avyanna’s story and why we have started this fundraiser to help her mother, Tiana. Since the day Baby Avy was born she has been fighting to make her place in this world. In utero she was diagnosed with only cleft lip/palate with little concerns for her health. So once she was born, it was a shock and her mother was unprepared for the future that waited them. However, her mom completely fell in love and has dedicated every waking hour to Avyanna’s care. When she was born Avy was unresponsive and not breathing due to her unique anatomy. After life saving measures were taken, Avy was eventually taken off oxygen able to breathe on her own. She was diagnosed with multiple Craniofacial anomalies and several other health conditions such as proboscis lateralis, nasal encephalocele, Club foot, cleft lip, apnea, GERD, nasolacrimal obstruction, and other conditions such as a compromised immune system. Due to her anatomy Avy has suffered multiple brain and blood infections, seizure, and staph infections that have almost taken her life. Avyanna was born in Ft Myers and began her care at Golisano Childrens Hospital. She spent many, many nights in the hospital with her mother always by her side. Due to her rare diagnoses, Golisano was not able to give her the proper care. So her mother had to relocate to Jacksonville, FL for brain surgery. Tiana has two other beautiful children who are pre teen and teenage years. She had to make the most difficult decision of leaving her two children at their hometown while Avyanna received the care she desperately needed. After another deadly brain and blood infection, Avy was admitted and her brain surgery was scheduled right away. Her mother was then informed that she needed to relocate once again to Miami, FL because they had the only specialists in the entire state that could help Avy. With no hesitation her mom left behind her immediate family and support system in Jacksonville to Miami to help her baby. Avyanna will need many, many surgeries along with constant doctors visits, therapies, equipment and specialized care. Her mother has sacrificed everything to give her daughter the life she deserves. Baby Avyanna has brought so much joy and perspective to all of us. No matter what she goes through she is always smiling and always happy. Every time she is surrounded by people she gets so excited and greets everyone with an excited “Hi!!!”. It doesn’t matter if you’re a stranger or family, she will brighten your day with her beautiful smile. She has a personality that brings nothing but light into the world and she deserves to be helped. Avy has also been reunited with her big brother and big sister who also love her dearly. Tiana has done everything she can to try and make ends meet and always put her children first. She is in one of the most expensive cities in the state with limited resources available and no family support system near. She holds her head up with pride and does her best to try and work. She has just started a cleaning business and does residential cleaning so that she can have flexibility for the children. As well enrolling in a nursing program so that she can help other children like Avyanna.  However, Avyannas medical care is very demanding and her compromised immune system leaves her very sick very often. Tiana prides herself on being strong and working hard to take care of her family. But we see her struggling and always having to put work aside for Avyanna and her other two children. Her determination is exactly why we want to help her. We don’t want to ignore how difficult this must be for her to survive in this economy and be the mother her kids need her to be. We want to raise money to help fill in the gaps and help her with bills and other expenses so that Avyanna can continue to come first. She also struggles with car problems and has had to put her car in the shop quite a few times. Transportation is extremely important in their situation. Her mom has done so much for her and has fought so hard to make sure she is cared for properly while still being there for her oldest two. Please help us to make life just a little easier on a family that truly deserves the help. It will make a world of difference and we know Tiana will do so much good for her community one day wh
