Our hearts are breaking for Juli Beth and David. As nurses, and long time foster parents, they have opened their home to many children in need. When they got the call about baby Ava,they dropped everything, and without hesitation answered the call that God had put on their heart. 

Ava had been born a severely damaged brain. Her brain stem was in tact, and therefore her body functioned, but she would never walk, or talk, or be able to care for herself. 

They flew to South Carolina, met with Ava's mother who would not be able to care for her and all her medical needs. With her blessing they moved forward with the adoption process and brought Ava home on March 19th. 

So much uncertainty, so much upheaval in their "normal" lives, but Ava was instantly loved as part of the family. 

God called Ava home on May 31st. While this was always a strong possibility, the loss has devastated the family, and those of us who care for them. 

We're asking for those who can to contribute to the cost of the funeral arrangements. And we are asking everyone for prayers of healing and peace for Juli and David.
