Baby Ashton
Donation protected
Our first grandchild, Ashton Kenneth Baker, was born one week early on August 4, 2020. For the first two hours of his life, Mom and Dad's little warrior fought to breathe on his own. By dinnertime that night, Mom and baby were both stable. August 6, 2020, Mom and baby were released to go home. Over the course of the next few days, Mom and Dad became vigilant and aware that Ashton was not crying, eating, or moving quite like they felt he should be. During a check-up on August 12, 2020, his physician had him admitted to the Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Escorted an hour and a half away by Mom and Dad, he was admitted with low tones and hypothermia. Since that fateful Wednesday, baby Ashton has undergone a large battery of testing as his condition has progressively worsened. Baby Ashton is currently in the PICU struggling to dispel CO2 from his body. As Mom and Dad patiently and nervously wait for medical and genetic testing to come back, they are overwhelmed with expenses surrounding daily costs of Mom staying an hour and a half away from home and unable to return to work at this time. Dad works full time and has been seizing every opportunity to make the drive to hold his baby for a few moments. As of now, there is no foreseeable discharge date and still no answers as to what caused their first born to have muscular and respiratory issues.
We know that as a community, as a family, and as a country; everyone has been devastated by the pandemic and other events that 2020 has brought us. As baby Ashton's grandparents, we are reaching out on behalf of Tori and Dylan and asking for those who can help ease their minds financially, ease their spirits with prayer, and uphold their little family in your thoughts; please donate to their GoFundMe page, add them to your prayer list, and please share on your wall. All your thoughts, prayers, and donations are a true blessing and will be unfathomably appreciated! For any questions or comments please message Ellemrahs Ecir or Chelsea Rice. We ask that their inboxes and phones are not flooded as they are in the PICU unit and Dad works. Thank you ALL!
