Baby Armani — Our Warrior
Donation protected
First and foremost, we give thanks to God: we thank God for blessing us all with Baby Armani for these years He has given us. We are grateful for Armani’s life, and the impact he’s made on everyone who knows him. We are all forever adorned by the love and light Armani has beamed upon us. The lasting impression he has imprinted on our minds and hearts will forever be imbedded in our being and spirit, he is so beautiful, in every way. . . tiny yet mighty. . . fragile yet determined.
Armani was born with some difficulties, and against all the odds, he remains an extremely strong-willed child. Diagnosed first with cerebral palsy at birth, then at some point later, diagnosed with epilepsy, the reality is — his quality of life has been severely disrupted. His five years of life have been a compilation of joy and pain, hope and sorrow, many victories and a great deal of affliction, lots of weeping — but so many good and hard laughs! His laugh was the absolute BEST ever!
Prayers for Armani have been many, his hospitalizations have been much, and while we have taken delight in the happy moments, it’s getting closer to the time where Alize will succumb to one of her worst fears: having to decide the “when” to remove the machines that are keeping Armani alive. The prognosis from the medical professional team at Lurie Children’s Hospital is one where Alize is told Armani is at a stage of brain damage that is irreversible. He is currently living in the hospital, and has been there for several months (going on six). For this reason, she painstakingly is in a position where she’d have to make the choice in the near future, to anticipate needing to make this very hurtful decision.
With this earthly departing near and inevitable, arrangements are already proactively being prepared for when the day and hour arises. We ask for everyone to remember Armani’s strong and positive influence in this world. May we all find solace in his resilience, knowing he faced the challenges of each day with a new strength only God can give. Whenever you feel as though your struggles are too heavy to carry, be uplifted in knowing our Armani never once gave up, he kept going, fighting till there was no more fight left.
Please continue to keep Baby Armani, Alize, and Will in your thoughts and hearts — they desperately need us.
