Baby Alana's Leukemia Battle
Donation protected
From Leslie West (Alana's mother):
On Sunday, February 14th, I took Alana to the emergency room for a persistently high fever. That following Wednesday I was told that she has pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She is a very smart, sweet, and active toddler that loves animals. I can’t believe this is happening to my baby girl. This diagnosis happened so fast and it breaks my heart to see how cancer has taken away her ability to be the carefree wild child she usually is. But she is still the same strong, happy girl and is getting treatment at the Texas Children’s Hospital in downtown Houston so she is in really good hands. I am scared but I also have hope and faith that her amazing oncology team is doing everything they can to help her fight this cancer and are determined to get her into remission.
Since that day and in the months ahead I will be unable to work because Alana will be unable to attend daycare. Her immune system will be weakened and the doctors believe it’s too dangerous. She has already been medically transported from College Station to Houston twice, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the hospital and other strong medicines at home on a daily basis. The medical bills are stacking up and will continue for at minimum the next 9 months.
This is where you can help. We ask, if you can give, please do. We will use this money during the time I will be out of work for Alana’s care.
If you cannot donate, that’s okay too. You can help by sharing this post. My family asks this: pray for us and continue to pray. We will need it. Thank you
