Baby Adrianna's fight with SCID

Hello all, my name is Jeff Fonti and I am best friends with Eric Rovinetti and his wife Samantha. Sam and Eric had their beautiful baby daughter at the beginning of November of 2022. Adrianna is Sam and Eric's firstborn child and they couldn't be happier to now be newly minted parents.

Shortly after being born, Adrianna was diagnosed with SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency), a rare genetic disease that leaves Adrianna with a compromised immune system where the common cold could end up being devastating to her. Adrianna's body is unable to produce the proper T-Cells that are required to adequately combat the daily exposures the normal immune system could handle.

After learning this, I was devastated as no child deserves this to happen and I can't even begin to understand what Sam and Eric are going through. Since the diagnosis of Adrianna’s severely compromised immune system in mid-November, doctors have prohibited Eric and Sam to return to work for fear they may bring something into the house that may harm Adrianna.

Doctors have referred Sam and Eric to the Boston Children’s Hospital where the staff is experienced in working with this disease. Sadly, baby Adrianna will have to undergo chemotherapy which destroys her remaining T-Cells followed by a bone marrow transplant to replace the compromised T-Cells in Adrianna's body. There is a high success rate for this procedure which offers a small yet important sigh of relief for the two. During this 6 week or more procedure, which will be take place in Boston, Sam and Eric will be unable to work and essentially move into a hotel to be able to be close to Adrianna. A week of staying in a hotel in the Boston area could be up to $1,800. Unfortunately, there isn't much set up through the hospital as far as living arrangements for parents and this is where I am asking for your help.

This GoFundMe is to assist Sam and Eric with any lodging, food, parking, and medical expenses while they are caring for their baby. This will be a long and unnavigated road for the Rovinetti’s and any donation will be greatly appreciated. Please keep baby Adrianna in your hearts and in your prayers.
